The Mars Agency is proud to announce that two of its executives, Amy Andrews and Julia Miller, have been recognized for their outstanding achievements in the Path to Purchase Institute’s 2022 Women of Excellence Awards. The winners were unveiled on Oct. 18 during a special ceremony at Path to Purchase Live in Chicago.
Andrews, who as SVP-Client Leadership heads up two of The Mars Agency’s most important accounts, Campbell Soup Company and Tillamook, earned an award for Business Excellence. (Read her profile here.) Miller, whose role as Group Vice President, Commerce Media often tasks her with leveraging cutting-edge technologies, earned an award for Innovation. (Read her profile here.)
Now in its 7th year, P2PI’s Women of Excellence program recognizes female brand marketers, retailers, agency executives and solution providers for their achievements in influencing shoppers along the entire path to purchase. This year’s crop of 36 winners were selected from roughly 200 entries.
“Since the WEX program began, we’ve had the honor of celebrating 11 Women of Excellence winners and an additional 14 finalists,” notes Rob Rivenburgh, Global CEO of The Mars Agency. “That’s a testament to the quality of people we’ve been fortunate to attract, and also to the efforts we’ve always made to foster a culture that empowers female leadership.”
Today, 68% of the agency’s employees are women, a number that has stayed consistent over the last two as the agency experienced unprecedented growth in headcount. What’s more, women comprise 67% of the agency’s executive ranks and 60% of the top leadership team.
“Our founder, the late Marilyn Barnett, embodied the characteristics of a transformative female leader when she launched The Mars Agency 50 years ago,” explains EVP-Client Leadership Kristin Issler, one of the agency’s highest-ranking executives and the driving force behind We Lead, an initiative dedicated to growing and developing internal talent and leadership skills with a particular focus on women. “We’ve been inspired by Marilyn ever since, and we continue to invest in resources that will develop future generations of female leaders.”
